APS Work
APS provides Six Sigma guidance to companies interested in adopting this powerful, popular methodology.
APS successfully works with businesses to build bridges to a process-critical future of rapidly changing IT environments by incorporating Six Sigma to create an agile, customer-focused, process-driven organization. Our partnerships-in-process succeed, because APS has a common approach our consultants follow and record daily.
Recently, APS consultants led a Systems Department's first-ever DMADV projects, where the department company faced concerns about ongoing network outages. APS consultants worked with area experts to design a formalized approach to managing web environment segmentation, keeping all areas informed and involved. By design, the process enforces effective communication, which is vital for continued success.
At another business, APS worked with Test Center managers to design a standard process for managing testing environments, an environment that had become a real bottleneck in the application-development process. We joined forces and conducted a DMAIC project, where the actual problems were exposed—some previously hidden. Corrective measures were devised and woven in to a new, improved process, which has significantly improved both production and reliability. |
APS Results
Web segmentation delivered a better-informed contingency plan.
Since then, this department has experienced no outages and developed effective, ongoing communication strategies to maintain this performance level.
Work in the Test Center delivered many of the same results listed above, and it produced newly identified process requirements, which opened the door to new ideas and discoveries. Testing had been one of the department's largest expenses. Now, the Test Center runs smoothly and reliably, working together with other process areas. The company is experiencing tremendous process improvements results, which have drastically cut costs, improved time-to-market, and perhaps most importantly, become predictable and reliable.
We help clients develop work environments of consistent, repeatable, measurable processes, where decisions are data-driven. Cornerstones of this successes stand through customer and employee involvement. Our APS teams work with managers and employees who do the work, and we involve them through every step of the way.
