Access Process Solutions (APS) worked with a manufacturer to improve quality and increase productivity, using Six Sigma methodology.
This manufacturer was facing challenges, such as market-share decline and diminishing profits. Productivity and quality had deteriorated, and the company's ability to efficiently manufacture products was at stake. Management struggled to come to a consensus to overcome poor performance.
APS Work
APS conducted a thorough assessment of process performance across several operational sites. A team of APS consultants worked with managers and conducted a process assessment, using APSPA to provide consistent, objective ways to identify process "health" and practices to strengthen performance. Recommendations were made and an action team was set up to implement final recommendations. An APS team established a training approach; led process improvement, design, and measurement projects; and conducted analysis efforts through a series of facilitated sessions.
APS Results
The APS team trained people conducting, measurement, analyzing improvements. Projected multi-million-dollar savings were estimated to arise from:
 |
a 77% defect reduction |
 |
a 32% increase production capacity |
 |
a 58% improvement in productivity |
